Count Down to Art and Soul

In less than 40 day's I'll be heading to Virginia for Art and Soul Retreat!! So excited! Trades are DONE! Here they are, and I must say that although I love these ladies, I'm a little tired of them.

Got about 63 of these girls and 40ish Art Bait ATC's:

Have most of my supplies, but still need to get a book ready for Anne Grgich's Painterly Portrait's class.

I took some time out to play with transparency transfers and alcohol.

Got my 70% alcohol in an old spray bottle and my burnishing spoon at the ready. I used Apollo brand In Jet Printer Transparency Film CG7031S. Spayed the alcohol on until the transfer was shiny. Spray over trash can.

Laid transfer on watercolor ATC. Burnished. The above photo has transparency still on paper.
Excellent results! You can see the transparency piece left over on the right. Pretty clean transfer! My next attempt was a transfer on top of a watercolored paper ATC painted with acrylics and overstamped with Staz On ink. Here is what happens when you spray too much alcohol on the transparency:

Too blurry to use, so I wiped off the ink :
And tried again:

Love it! This is just the beginning of a new obsession, I can tell. Thanks to Kelsey and my yahoo group inkjettransfers for invaluable information.

  2. Oh boy! Something else to do!

Hope we are in the same fatbook group for Hampton, but maybe not. I'm in the second group. I think we may have already decided this . . . sadly.

Still, will be nice to meet you. Save me an ATC, and I'll save one for you!

  5. Yes, making trades can be tiresome while you are doing it but OH, think of the fun you'll have going through what you get back!!!

I'm so glad that you liked the rubbing alcohol/transparency transfers....it's such a great, easy technique and you can make it as perfect or imperfect as you like! These look wonderful by the way. ;-)

  6. LOVE how these turned out! I've REALLY got to do some housework today. I can't remember the last time I dusted . . . you know, something other than dusting mica on a project! LOL So I'm going to have to wait until tomorrow to try this technique. Aren't you just so proud of me? Ha!
