So here is my palette:
And here is where I deviated from instruction. Before adding the crackle paste, I thought it would be cool to have some sparkle and black flakes showing thru here and there.
Here it is wet.
Here it is dry.
Crackle paste.
Adding Paint.
Yummy crackle detail #1. "Vanity" crackle shot if you will. I couldn't resist, cuz I'm lovin it!!

PS oh crap now that I'm looking at it, do you think I need to get rid of that thick black line in the lower corner??? I like that it's darker and I don't want to loose definition but it does look like a line doesn't it?? comments?? hand holding?? talking me off the ledge???
i love this and think it's awesome! isn't texture fun? i'll have to look for the mica flake......as for the dark in the lower right i'd leave it. if it still bothers you you can always add layers over to tone it down, but i think it adds nice framing. but what do i know?
ReplyDeleteI love the sparkle that you added!! It looks great.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't change a thing!!! Hugs, Terri xoxo
ReplyDelete♥LUV♥ all the texture and lettingthe paint run where it may! This has so much possibility---makes me want to try some of the new Golden mediums I got, although it is so humid, I know they won't dry. (pouring rain, and coming thru the studio roof too! LOL!)
ReplyDeleteThis is a PERFECT background in it's IMPERFECTIONS. Wonderful.....
XXOO!!~~

OMG! I neeeeed some of that black mica flake stuff. I did't even know it EXISTED - must. have.
ReplyDeleteI can't really tell what I think about the black down in the corner. I'd love to see it with the tape removed before I offer an opinion.
BTW - this was my favorite lesson of the whole course. I never in a million years thought I could SO love these 'cold' colors - and well, my passion for Payne's Gray knows no bounds. And before this class I didn't even know there was such a color......
Awesome work babe - adding sparkle to a winter color schemeis brills! Keep up the great creative stuff.
Oh - I wanted to add:
ReplyDeleteYou said: I think there is just enuf sparkle, don't you??
I'm a Northeast Philly chick - there ain't no such thing as "'enuf sparkle" - LOL!! For real. Or big enough hair. Or...... well, let's not go there.............
