Black and White and Green All Over

My fav part of the process.
The background collage.
In my mind's eye I was thinking
black, white and lime green.
Wait till you see what I ended up with.
Completely not black white and lime green.

See!! I told you!! I love drips!
I am a drippy dame.
Layers of paint, stencils and assorted blobs.
Now the fun part:
Using alcohol and a cotton swab,
unveiling parts of the collage underneath.
What I have so far:
Living with
the work in progress
for inspiration:
Next post will be about that
bird painting in upper right corner.
I had a summer with productive spurts
combined with sluggishness!
And FINALLY
I finished my parent's painting,
The Orb.
Here I am with my baby, with mixed feelings.
Happy and Proud of what I created
but sick to death of it!!
Kind of like parenting
a kid who is about to turn 18
teehee.
The long view without
my noggin in the middle.
teehee.
Thanks for looking, visiting and

May the Muse Be With You.

The Orb

The Orb is done.
Oh.
Except for painting the bottom edge gold.
Also, do I need to varnish this?

Painted sides gold so no frame required.

20x48

And the gratuitous close-up.

 Thanks for looking.
I never want to see this painting again.

Progress On The Orb

Trying to get "The Orb" finished by
Father's Day.
Here's the latest pics:

And it wouldn't be a post from moi,
if I didn't include a gratuitous closeup:

I'm pleased.
Now go paint something.

If Mama Ain't Happy Ain't Nobody Happy

Mom and Dad bought this:

And they want a 20x48 inch painting
to match it.
I got roped in.
Of course, it could be that I said
"Oh, I could do that."
So I gave it a try.

Here is a vanity shot of the new laptop.
Yeah I was too dumb to think of actually taking the candle stand...
so I worked off a photo.
I made 2 mock ups
Just in case.

I got all absorbed and forgot to take pics after the orange blob one. Oh well.
This mock up was on 6 1/2x16 paper so the proportions are similar to the desired size.
Dick Blick has delivered the paint
and the canvas has been custom ordered.
I'll let you know how it turns out.
The Colonel's Expectations +
Mom's Artistic Eye +
My Perfectionism =
What was I thinking!!!!

For those of you worried about copyright infringement, this painting will not be for sale, it is purely for my parents enjoyment.
And after I paint it for the third time, I will never want to see it again.
Altho I will gladly make the acception for mom's dinner and dominoes nights.
Good stuff.

A Good Start

So many possibilites brewing.......ideas??? xoSusan

PS. Thanks to the Artist's who left supportive comments about "Principle Architect". Yes, Jan, it was inspired by pain, but the pain worked as a muse, and I purged it into creativity! And, Janet, I used an 8 x 10 stretched canvas. And since you like my buildings here are the images I used:

Have fun and let me see what you create!! xoS
