Final Touches

I finished adding beads to the wine charms. From this project I have discovered that I have no talent at anything to do with beads, jewelry making, or DG3. I need to stick with paper!! You should see my jump rings. They are not round, they are weirdly mashed. teehee. Anyway, here are the finished charms:

I also made some refrigerator magnets for my friend Erin, who gave me this box of beads a LONG time ago. I didn't purchase any beads for this project. I'm am in love with the philosophy of using what I have, even if it's not the perfect choice. Ironically, most of the time it is!

I have been saving business cards that come attached to thin magnets. I rip off most of the business card and use a circle punch and double stick tape to adhere it to the bottle cap.
Erin is a glitter whore like me so I know she will get a kick out of these. I also made a set for my two nieces, one who is brunette and one who is blonde. I originally made 3 each but one of the brunette ones bubbled terribly. When this project is done, I am probably going to hang up my DG3 and call it a day.

Here is the charm presentation:

Hope all of your holiday celebrations and preparations are going well. I still didn't finish my nephews frame, darn it....and about the whole Not Smoking thing..... Well, I relapsed most shamefully. I have had a painful personal experience knock me for a loop. Good thing for friends, family and Art to help me keep my faith in humanity.......xoSusan

  1. I'm so sorry you just took a punch in the gut - that sucks. If you need to talk, call me. School's over so I'll be home most of the week doing my holiday projects. In the meantime I'll think good stuff for you.

  2. Susan, I LOVE that you've finished the charms! They're awesome, and so are those magnets. Whoo-Hoo! It's a personal triumph! Love the presentation too.

And if you can semi-master DG3 enough to make those charms, you'll be able to quit smoking again when you're ready. Hey! You're only human! Seriously, you do what you can to move on and get through. As Scarlett O'Hara said, "Tomorrow's another day!" Lol! Holiday Hugs, Terri xoxo

  3. The charms are awesome. I like your stict -to- it -ness in finishing the project., even if you had a slip on the smoking. I know you will master that as well. Start over again when you are ready, most people have to, I did too.
You are not alone friend ok.

  4. these are great and i'm sure they'll be treasured gifts! got your card yesterday & it gave me a much needed smile- thank you. sorry abt the bad times. and thank heaven for support systems. i quit smoking 4 or 5 times before the last one- which has so far lasted 10 years. you'll get there. take care-

  5. Just sent you an email warning you about how little sense I may make commenting here as I catch up. And, I will leave those annoying comments on older posts that you sometimes miss because you can't remember how many comments those old posts had the last time you looked.

These are just the cutest charms I've ever seen! What a great idea and they are a wonderful success - these would make a great Etsy offering!

Hope whatever caused the relapse is not too awful. Thinking of you!

  6. Love the final look and presentation. Nice job there Susan.

PS LOVE my card and atc!! XOXOXO
